AMIAS CERTIFICATION TRAINING WORKSHOP SATURDAY, October 24,2026 /SPRING ASSEMBLY
There will be an AMIAS CERTIFICATION TRAINING WORKSHOP at the SPRING ASSEMBLY at the Natick Senior Center, Natick MA (in the afternoon). The workshop will be hybrid. Zoom info will be posted on the events section of the alanonma.org website as well as on the forthcoming ASSEMBLY AGENDA.

HELP WANTED: IN PERSON ALATEEN OUTREACH PRESENTATIONS
Looking for Al-Anon/Alateen members to do IN-PERSON PRESENTATIONS for Alateen to help districts with Alateen meetings increase their attendance. You do NOT have to be a certified Al-Anon Member Involved In Alateen Service (AMIAS) to carry out these outreach presentations There is an ALATEEN OUTREACH PRESENTATIONS RESOURCE GUIDE for assistance on the ALATEEN TILE and under the SERVICE tab (then click on GUIDELINES) The suggested geographical areas to do these in person presentations are Bradford/North Andover, Hull, Northampton, Concord, Barnstable, Lynnfield, Millbury, Greenfield, Westboro, Worcester, Tisdale ,Brewster, and Springfield. These are the towns with active Alateen meetings, or future meetings, in MA.

There are designated Alateen bookmarks available at the AFG OF MA Westboro office. ANYONE is welcome to request these bookmarks and distribute them to organizations that serve teens or directly to teens. Locations which might be considered for distribution are: (Pediatricians, Police – School resource officers, Middle and High School Guidance Counselors, Boys & Girls Clubs, Church Youth Groups, Department of Children and Families.

ALATEEN ELECTRONIC MEETINGS
At the spring assembly on May 16, 2026 group representatives were presented with a motion to accept the incorporation of Alateen Electronic meetings in MA (AREA 25). The motion was accepted. In order to incorporate electronic meetings special requirements will need to be followed as decided by the World Service Office. Special Alateen Electronic Meeting trainings will be offered over the summer. As of now, our Area Alateen Process Person (AAPP – PAM) alternate Alateen Coordinator, and I will be attending the 3-hour long training sessions on- line sometime in August. Before starting an electronic meeting more knowledge acquisition will be needed before actually launching an Alateen Electronic Meeting. More information will be available as time goes on…..Stay tuned.

Ask members of the Al-Anon meetings you attend to consider getting certified for AMIAS in these areas. Worcester, Watertown, Leominster, Haverhill, Northampton, Brewster, Bradford/N. Andover, Springfield.
